Family Fitness Night presented by the Liberty Elementary PTC is Friday, Feb. 24, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Liberty Elementary School, 2345 Liberty St. SW.

The free event features games, door prizes and snacks.

Among the events:

• Instructor-led classes (Kids Move & Groove, Zumba, Disney Dance) led by instructors from Mid-Valley YMCA.
• Inflatable Bounce House
• Wii Sports game room
• Relay races

In addition to the activities there will be healthy snack options provided.  Thirty single-day passes to the YMCA will be offered as door prizes.  There will also be a drawing for a 3-month family membership to the YMCA.

On March 12, 2012, national presenter Mervlyn Kitashima will share a personal account of the factors that contributed to her ability to overcome the odds. 

Once labeled an “at risk” child, Ms. Kitashima was a participant in Emmy Werner’s ground-breaking research, “Kauai Longitudinal Study on Resilience.”

Roy and Melissa Robin and their five boys, River, Trenten, Sef, Destin, and Hunter, will get the home of their dreams on Sunday, December 4th, when Junction City/Harrisburg/Monroe Habitat for Humanity hosts a dedication ceremony and reception from 2:30 to 4:00 pm at their new house at 501 South 6th in Harrisburg.  The community is invited to join the festivities.
