SWEET HOME, Ore. - A Vida woman lost control of her pickup on an icy corner, sending the rig spinning out of control off the road and into a power pole.

Denise Mitchell, 43, of Vida was able to get out of her 2003 Ford pickup after the crash on Highway 228 near Sweet Home, Ore., just before 5:25 a.m. Monday.

Mitchell lost control of the rig on an icy corner.

The pickup spun off the highway, overturned and struck a power pole. The pole broke and fell next to the pickup.

Mitchell was taken by ambulance to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital with minor injury, police said.

Pacific Power personnel responded to the scene and cut power while repairs were made to the pole.
